The latest rendition of the NV Brut Yellow Label offers up aromas of toasty, honeyed yellow orchard fruit and white flowers, followed by a medium-bodied, open-knit palate with tangy acids, a youthfully frothy mousse and pure if somewhat brief finish. This isn't as powerful as the 2008 Grande Dame, but it's livelier; indeed, based on these examples, there isn't much qualitative gap between the two. Given the quantity produced, this is a creditable effort.

The NV Brut offers up attractive notes of smoke, tar, rich ripe pears and flowers in a medium to full-bodied style. There is a good measure of persistence, although the wine could use a little more polish on the finish. This is Lot 14009913, disgorged between December, 2007 and January, 2008. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010. Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin is one of Champagnes best known brands thanks to the success of its yellow label non-vintage wine and the tete de cuvee La Grande Dame.Importer: Moet Hennessy USA, New York, NY; tel. The VC brand ambassador, the NV Brut Yellow Label (an assemblage of 55% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier) is currently based on the 2012 vintage and contains 35% reserve wines. On the nose, ripe and intense (yellow-fleshed) fruit aromas intermix with a very nice maturity from the reserve wines. Disgorged in January 2015 with a dosage of nine grams, this is a medium-bodied, yet round and full-flavored Brut. It possesses biscuit and nutty flavors, and a nice freshness and complexity in the intense, aromatic finish. Indeed, this is very delicate and impressively good.

Tightly knit, focused by racy acidity and a streak of minerality, this offers subtle notes of white peach, anise, biscuit and kumquat. The refined finish echoes a smoky note.
