"Owner Stefano Frascolla describes 2019 as 'a dream vintage' and describes how the vines 'underwent all the stages of their phenolic development at the optimum times.' For me, the 2019 Redigaffi is a wine of sublime harmony and balance and it reminds me very much of the 2016. It is absolutely brimming with ripe black cherry, cream and blackcurrant flavours encased in compact, super-fine tannins that are firm yet so elegant and refined. The wine is generous and full with deep layers of black fruit, leather, tar and spice. This is the vintage on the market now, and it's absolutely one of the most age-worthy editions in this tasting. "I tasted the 2019 Tua Rita Redigaffi at a special 25th anniversary vertical tasting at the Tua Rita winery in Suvereto, Tuscany, in July 2022. I tasted all 25 vintages where the real standouts were the 1997, the 2000, and the 2016. I feel the very young 2019 is also at the level of the 2016 and worthy of a perfect score. On the palate it is just brimming with ripe red fruits, pretty floral notes, cream, black cherry, and blackcurrant flavors with superfine, elegant tannins. This 2019 is a wine with great tenacity and energy. It is still not completely formed yet but all the wonderful ingredients are there for this to be a great wine with a long life.
